Temporary POP Uncovered
When a display is scheduled for an in-store life of six months or less, it is considered a temporary display. Most temporary displays are used for between thirty and sixty days. Temporary displays are commonly used to launch new lines or new products, or are often associated with promotionals, seasonal campaigns, or a special event. Materials used to build temporary POP include vinyl, foam core, paper stocks and corrugate. Converted corrugated board is the most common material used to construct temporary Displays. |

Common Types of POP Displays |
| Freestanding Floor Displays/Merchandiser |
The most popular temporary POP Display is the Freestanding Floor Display. These freestanding displays are the most effective way to get a product off the crowded store shelves and out onto the floor where consumers will be sure to see them. With a Freestanding Floor Display, you are actually getting a separate store shelf of your own, with high graphic intensity, and because it stands out on it's own, it has super high visibility. This is exactly why they are so effective.
Advantages of Freestanding Displays
- They work well in any retail environment.
- They motivate impulse buys (attract customers to buy a product they didn't intend on buying).
- They stand alone, therefore stand out in the aisle or store.
- They have high visibility and get attention.
- They are common and work very well in supermarkets and convenience stores.

Pallet Displays
Pallet Displays are square and much larger than freestanding floor displays and use a wooden pallet as the base for the display itself, which is found above the products. These type of displays are most commonly found in the club stores and big box retailers.
Pallet Displays are a win-win solution that gives retailers an easy to assemble display, and manufacturers a larger amount of retail space to sell their products.
Pallet Display Sizes
- Full Size measures 48 X 40 inches
- Half Pallet measures 24 X 40 inches
- Quarter Pallet measures 24 X 20 inches
- Larger sizes, 48 X 48 & 48 X 60 are available

- They are ideal when space requirements are minimal.
PDQ Trays
A PDQ Tray is any Counter Display that is ready ‘out of the box' and can be put on display as soon as it is removed from the box it came in, with no assembly required. Store clerks and mangers are more likely to use a POP display if it is easy to assemble and easy to place. A PDQ Tray makes it a no-brainer and pretty hard for them not to use your display
