What is Clamshell Packaging?
Clamshell packaging has quickly become one of the most popular forms of hard plastic packaging we offer. Because of it's strength, durability, versatility and design possibilities, as well as it's cost effectiveness, it has become the state of the art in retail, store packaging.

Packaging Materials
PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) is the most common material used in clamshells. PVC produces a strong and clear package. It is also less costly than other materials. For food grade materials, PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate) is used. Europeans use PET exclusively because it is eco-friendly. Europeans incinerate their trash. PET does not release toxic chemicals as PVC does. Currently elected officials at the State and Federal are pushing to limit the use of PVC. Therefore we may see more PET in the future.
Insert Cards
Insert cards allow clamshells to display information and graphics. Clamshells allow you to have one card printed on two sides. Insert cards are often run in combos. A Combo Run also known as a Gang Run is a production run of multiple orders to save on the price of tooling and setup. This is ideal for shorter runs and one-time runs.
